It seems only fitting to give an update, post aftermath of the hip replacement... So;
- Hike 7 miles at Castle Rock State Park
- Play a 9hole game of golf and respectfully
- Cycle from Fort-Ord to Monterey and back (~20miles)
- NOT buy any more painkillers
- Laced up a pair of vintage Doc Martens
- Get back to the Gym on a regular basis
- Remove the thought of the catheter removal from my memory bank
- Lie on my side without discomfort
- Cuddle my wife in bed again (she just shouted that one out)
- Get back to gardening
The exhilaration I got from swinging a golf club again was indescribable & lacing shoes almost bought tears to my eyes.
I know it sounds like small things but I truly believed these were no longer part of my life, I feel almost like I'm on a voyage of rediscovery. So right now, it's more than worth the pain and discomfort and short of been padded down at the airport by strange and burly gentlemen I feel brand new...
