Six Months After a Total Hip Replacement

It seems only fitting to give an update, post aftermath of the hip replacement... So;
  1. Hike 7 miles at Castle Rock State Park
  2. Play a 9hole game of golf and respectfully
  3. Cycle from Fort-Ord to Monterey and back (~20miles)
  4. NOT buy any more painkillers
  5. Laced up a pair of vintage Doc Martens
  6. Get back to the Gym on a regular basis
  7. Remove the thought of the catheter removal from my memory bank
  8. Lie on my side without discomfort
  9. Cuddle my wife in bed again (she just shouted that one out)
  10. Get back to gardening
The exhilaration I got from swinging a golf club again was indescribable & lacing shoes almost bought tears to my eyes.

I know it sounds like small things but I truly believed these were no longer part of my life, I feel almost like I'm on a voyage of rediscovery. So right now, it's more than worth the pain and discomfort and short of been padded down at the airport by strange and burly gentlemen I feel brand new...
